ジョンは子どもの誕生を控え人形をコレクションにしている妻ミアのため、ビンテージとしての価値が高い白いドレスを着た人形“アナベル”を連れて帰りプレゼントするが…。
2013年公開の「死霊館」に登場し、超常現象の研究家であるウォーレン夫妻が実際に管理しているといわれる、呪われたアナベル人形の前日譚が描かれたスピンオフ。
