酒好きで怖いもの知らずのドム・ヘミングウェイは、金庫破りとして英雄的な存在だった。そんな彼が、ボスに代わっての12年の刑務所暮らしを終えて出所してきた。彼は仲間のディッキーを引連れ、収監中の報酬を受け取ろうとボスを訪ねる。同時に疎遠になっていた娘イヴリンと再会を望むが、今まで慣れ親しんだ闇世界に引き戻されることに…。
