物語の舞台は前作から27年後。忌まわしき町デリーで再び連続児童失踪事件が発生し、かつて“それ”と対峙した27年後の子供たちの元に、「帰っておいで…」という不穏なメッセージが届く。「再び“それ”が現れたら僕たちも戻る」という27年前の約束を守り恐怖と戦うため、ビルをはじめとするルーザーズ・クラブの仲間たちが町に戻ってくる…。

先週末9月6日～9月8日の全米ボックスオフィスランキングが発表され、作家スティーヴン・キングの代表作を映画化した大ヒットホラーの続編『IT／イット THE END “それ”が見えたら、終わり。』が、興行収入9,106万2,152ドル（約100億円）で初登場1位に輝いた。
