深夜のトークショウで有名なベテラン司会者キャサリン・ニューベリー。かつては彼女の語り口で人気を博した番組だったが、時代に逆らう番組の風潮から視聴率が低迷気味。キャサリンはテコ入れのために、番組初となる女性ライターのモリー・パテルを起用する。モリーの参加から世代のギャップに押されるキャサリン、事態は大きく変わり始め…。
