犯罪ジャーナリストのルー・ブルームは、LAで起こる交通事故や殺人などの刺激的な事件映像を求め追い続けるフリーのカメラマン・グループを発見する。仕事に飢えたルーは自ら危険で暴力的な夜の世界へと足を踏み入れていく。彼らの報酬はパトカーのサイレンが響きわたり被害者が出ることで発生する。警察無線を傍受して競争が始まり…。
