2010年8月5日、チリ北部のサンホセ鉱山で大規模な落盤事故が発生、33人の作業員が地下700mに生き埋めに…。やがて彼らの生存が確認され、不眠不休の救助活動の末、69日目にして奇跡的に全員が生還する。彼らは如何にして生き延びたのか。隔絶された地上と地下で繰り広げられた数々の闘い、全世界が見守った救出の全貌が明かされる。
