人間に寄生し意識と体を乗っ取る地球外生命体"ソウル"の侵略により、人類は絶滅の危機に瀕していた。都会を離れ逃亡生活を送っていた少女メラニーは、ソウルであるワンダラーに体を乗っ取られるが意識は残され、恋人の青年ジャレドとの複雑な恋愛関係に発展する。やがてメラニーの中の２つの意識は理解を深めワンダラーは意外な行動に…。
