科学者ウィルと妻エブリンは世界初の人工知能PINNの研究開発に取組んでいた。彼らはコンピューターが人間の能力を超える特異点を目標に活動をしていたが、ウィルが反テクノロジーを唱える過激派組織の凶弾に倒れてしまう。しかし、死の際にあった彼の意識はエブリンによってPINNにアップロードされ、コンピューターの中で生き続けることに…。
