夏休みをむかえる高校生のジョーは、楽しいはずの青春が片親である父フランクによって厳しく管理されることに失望を感じていた。彼は自立するための手段として、親友のパトリックと風変わりな少年ビアージョの３人で森の中に小屋を作り、ひと夏を過ごすことを計画する。彼らが小屋を完成させるころ、各自にとって何が大切か気づき始める…。
